Prices 

As each cake is unique and treat as an individual project, there is not a set price to follow. Prices are based depending the size of the cake, number of tiers, cake flavours, and the complexity of the design.

If you require a quote for your cake, please, contact us with your details and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Also if you have a set budget, let us know and we can work around it to suit your needs.

Please advise that we do required at least 4 days notice for novelty and general cakes and a minimun of 1 month for wedding cakes .

(please always check with us for availability). 

Icings & Fillings 

Sponge flavours range goes from the classic Vanilla Madeira Cake to different versions such Lemon, Orange, Marble vanilla and chocolate madeira  as well as a moist Chocolate Mud Cake, Coconut and Rum or Coffee Cake. More sponge flavours can be baked upon request. Contact us with your preference.

Fillings can be a  combination of jam and buttercream or just buttercream. Buttercream flavours goes from vanilla, lemon, orange, coffe, chocolate or liquor,etc … and will complement the flavour of your sponge. 

“Building a Cake” 

This are some examples of the way we put together the cakes:

Fruitcakes are covered  with a layer of apricot jam, cover in marzipan, and then coated with sugarpaste icing and decorated to your request.

Madeira and sponge cakes are layered with either jam or buttercream of your choice, then coated with a thin layer of buttercream and covered with sugarpaste to finally be decorated.

Marzipan could be used for sponge based cakes if requested.

“Cutting Cake ” is a back up cake to give you extra portions but that doesn´t need to be fully decorated (just simply iced), so if the cake and desing you like doesn´t give you enough servings, the cutting cake is a good option fo larger parties.

10 Things to keep in mind about this Cakes.

1 – All cakes are nut free unless recipe specify, but we work on an enviroment where nuts are used so if you are allergic to nuts, please let us know.

2 – Food intolerances are all over the place these days, so if you have one or you are allergic to any specific ingredient and you are not sured if you can have the cake you dream off… check with us, we are here to help!

3 – Cakes are to be kept in a dry, odor-free, away from sunlight enviroment. DON´T KEEP YOUR CAKE IN THE FRIDGE.Due to the nature of these cakes and the sugarpaste (fondant) used for decoration, cakes can not be placed in the fridge as doing so the fondant will become shoggy and falling apart an decorations will be ruined. 

4 – Whole decorated cakes that hasn´t been cut can be kept for 4 days. The fondant acts like an ”air tight cover” so cake can keep nice and moist for 4 days depending on the sponge used.

5 – As these cakes can not be refrigerated,  fresh cream can not be used to decorated or as a filling. 

6 - Once you sliced up your cake, if you have any left overs, then you can wrap them in cling film or placed in air-tight container and keep it in the fridge for a couple of days. Take out and let it come to room temperature before eat.

7 – We used the cut and portion chart in our website (http://www.irelandcakes.com/?page_id=572) , so we take as a portion guide the “Dessert portion”  1 ” x 2” x 3”(height of cake) / 2,5cm x 5cm x 7,5cm (height) to calculate how much cake you need. If you are going to cut your cake into wedges portions, let us when placing the order to be able to ge the portions and cake sized right.

8 – All decorations are made out of sugarpaste and therefore edibles, same as colors paints and glitters, but please bare in mind some of these decorations are attached to the cake trough wires, so they need to be removed before eating them.When this is the case you´ll be notifed in advance and explain which decorations and the position in the cake.

9 – Sugar Flowers are edibble as well, but since they are normally wired in a more complex way we recomend not to be eaten.

10 -Did you know that “Stressed” is Desserts spelled backwards?  so turn you stress inside out!!! Eat Cake!!

We will be happy to help you work out how much cake you will need, so you just need to contact us with the number of guests and we´ll work it out for you. But be assured, this needn’t restrict your choice of cake design, or the number of tiers you would like to have.
If you have more guests than your ideal cake could accommodate, We could provide additional “cutting cake” to make up the extra portions.

Terms and Conditions of Ireland Cakes

            ·     A  Non Refundable Deposit when booking a cake is needed to guarantee order. 

·     Balance of cake to be paid when collecting cake or before cake is delivered to venue.

·     Charge for delivery to your reception depends on location and availability.

·     Ireland Cakes cannot be held responsible for cakes once they have left our care.

·     It is suggested for wedding cakes that the couple contact us the week before the wedding to view the cake Cakes should be viewed before delivery or collection to avoid dissapointment.

·     Ireland Cakes cannot be held responsible for cakes that have not been viewed.
